Nadia Elena Comaneci
It was at the Montreal Olympic Games 1976 that she scored one of the greatest sporting moments of all time - - the very first perfect 10 on asymmetrical bars. Then she had six more flawless 10s. This resulted in her being the youngest Olympic medalist all around and she was just 14. The accomplishments of Nadia Comaneci have not just drawn attention in all directions but has also assisted Romania to find a spot on the international map. In achieving an unachievable result, the sporting icon created a legendary figure and promoted gymnastics all over all over the world. The sport changed the way people view female gymnasts. Her performance during the Olympics is significant enough that her toe motion (toe-on) and release are named after her. They have both been described as very difficult to perform. Aside from the Olympics she also was able to showcase her amazing ability at World Championships and European Championships. In the process, she became one of the top gymnasts of all time, as well as an enduring legend. In the US she began to promote sporting goods and models following her departure from her home country.
